Bali Takes Center Stage for World Water Forum 2024

The World Water Forum (WWF), the world's leading international water summit, sets its sights on Bali, Indonesia, from May 18-24, 2024. Themed "Water for Shared Prosperity," this 10th edition promises to be a landmark event, tackling global water challenges and shaping a more sustainable future.

A Legacy of Collaboration, A Vision for Progress

The World Water Forum's story began in 1992 at the UN Conference on Water and Environment in Rio de Janeiro. Since then, it has convened every three years, uniting government officials, private sector leaders, civil society, and stakeholders to discuss and solve pressing water issues.

Indonesia, A Natural Host for a Water-Conscious World

Indonesia, a sprawling archipelago of over 17,000 islands, deeply understands the value and vulnerability of water. A growing population puts increasing pressure on water resources, making the country a pioneer in water management innovation and sustainability practices. Hosting the World Water Forum reflects Indonesia's commitment to global water stewardship and its recognition of water as the cornerstone of shared prosperity.

Global Water Initiatives at the 10th World Water Forum

Indonesia brings three key missions to the Bali meeting: advancing water and climate resilience, integrating water management in small islands, and promoting World Lake Days.

The 10th World Water Forum involves three main processes: political, regional, and thematic, engaging various stakeholders, including national leaders, ministers, academics, and young innovators. Featuring 230 thematic forum sessions, 55 side events, and 10 special sessions. Indonesia has invited 44 heads of state, 4 international institution heads, and 198 ministers responsible for water issues.

A Catalyst for Action and Collaboration

The World Water Forum isn't just a discussion platform; it's a catalyst for action. The forum aims to generate concrete commitments, partnerships, and initiatives that drive progress towards water security and sustainable development goals.
